China elektrifiziert sein Energiesystem deutlich schneller als Europa oder die USA – der Stromanteil am Endenergieverbrauch wächst dort neunmal so rasch. Fossile Brennstoffe müssen vollständig durch Strom ersetzt werden, der zum universellen Energieträger wird. Doch in Europa bremsen veraltete Steuern und Subventionen den Wandel: Strom ist im Verhältnis zu Gas zu teuer, was den Umstieg auf Wärmepumpen und E-Mobilität behindert. China profitiert von günstigeren Preisrelationen und schnelleren Entscheidungsprozessen. Europa muss seine Preissignale korrigieren. Der Autor schlägt vor: Bis 2030 sollten Brennstoffpreise mindestens 70 % des Strompreises betragen, um Elektrifizierung und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu sichern.

China is advancing electrification of its energy system far faster than Europe or the US, increasing the electricity share of final energy nine times faster. The shift from fossil fuels to electricity is essential, as fuels will largely disappear and power will become the universal energy carrier. Yet in Europe, outdated taxes and subsidies make electricity too expensive compared to gas, slowing heat pumps and EV adoption. China benefits from better price ratios and rapid project implementation. Europe must realign price signals. The author proposes: by 2030, fuel prices should reach at least 70% of electricity prices to drive electrification and competitiveness.
