The xGWp initiative proposes building a large-scale photovoltaic manufacturing plant in Europe to reduce dependence on imports, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and secure the supply chain for the continent’s energy transition. It also underlines the need for coordinated action between EU bodies, member states, and industry to integrate manufacturing growth with grid development, market design, and renewable deployment strategies.
