ZUSAMMENFASSUNG / Die Studie fordert ein neues Leitbild für Südbaden, da traditionelle Vorstellungen von Fortschritt und industrieller Entwicklung nicht mehr tragfähig sind. Angesichts ökologischer Grenzen und regionaler Identität sollen nachhaltige, bedürfnisorientierte Entwicklungsmodelle entstehen. Südbadens Naturqualitäten, sein Image und das Selbstverständnis der Bevölkerung bilden dafür zentrale Ressourcen. Vorgeschlagen werden eine ganzheitliche Wirtschaftsförderung, regionale Vernetzungsstrukturen sowie konkrete Projekte u.a. in Tourismus, Energie, Landwirtschaft und Ernährung. Ziel ist es, ökologische und ökonomische Interessen zu verbinden, regionale Verantwortung zu stärken und langfristige Perspektiven für eine nachhaltige Regionalentwicklung zu eröffnen.

ABSTRACT / The study calls for a new development model for South Baden, as traditional ideas of progress and industrial growth are no longer viable. Given ecological limits and the region’s strong natural identity, sustainable, needs-oriented strategies are required. The region’s landscape, image and self-perception are seen as key assets. The authors propose holistic economic development, improved regional networks, and concrete initiatives in tourism, energy, agriculture and food. The aim is to link ecological and economic goals, strengthen regional responsibility, and create long-term perspectives for sustainable regional development.
