ZUSAMMENFASSUNG / Der Beitrag fordert einen grundlegenden Perspektivwechsel der Technologiepolitik: Statt weltmarktorientierter Hochtechnologie und zentralistischer Wachstumslogik soll eine regional orientierte, bedürfnisgerechte und ökologisch verantwortliche Entwicklung gefördert werden. Globalisierte Marktmechanismen entkoppeln Produktion von menschlichen Bedürfnissen und zerstören ökologische wie soziale Strukturen. Regionalisierung stärkt Überschaubarkeit, Selbstbestimmung und angepasste Technik. Leitbilder aus der Energiedebatte zeigen Wege zu dezentraler, ressourcenschonender Wirtschaft. Ziel ist eine eigenständige, demokratisch gestaltete Technologiepolitik, die menschliche Bedürfnisse, ökologische Kreisläufe und regionale Identität in Einklang bringt.

ABSTRACT / The paper calls for a fundamental shift in technology policy: instead of pursuing world-market-oriented high-tech and centralized growth, it advocates a regional, needs-based, and ecologically responsible approach. Global market mechanisms, the authors argue, detach production from human needs and undermine social and environmental systems. Regionalization can restore transparency, self-determination, and appropriate technology. Lessons from the energy debate point to decentralized, resource-efficient development models. The goal is an autonomous, democratically guided technology policy that aligns human needs, ecological cycles, and regional identity—offering a humane and sustainable alternative to globalized industrial expansion.
