SQM
Presentation
Freiburg / Firenze, 2002
The presentation introduces Sustainable Quality Management (SQM) as a comprehensive system for managing and assessing sustainability processes. It reinterprets sustainable development as a dynamic learning and quality management process requiring integration across social, economic, and environmental dimensions. SQM provides a modular analytical framework combining orientation principles, social potential, and transformation levers to support strategy, implementation, and evaluation at multiple governance levels. Internet-based tools—such as SQM.guide, SQM.progman, and SQM.project—enable transparent, participatory, and efficient management of public programmes, especially EU structural funds, while fostering intercultural communication, innovation, and continuous improvement.
